Today I totally “Bonked”!!! What is Bonking? Well, basically it’s when you lose energy in the middle of your workout. When you feel like you’ve just lost it, weak & generally out of gas. What’s happening ( the very short version) is you’re blood sugar is too low. (I.E., your body’s glycogen levels are very low) Glycogen= the energy your body stores from eating carbs. What to do…grab something to eat or drink right away. Your selection totally depends on YOU and what YOUR body needs.You may need to experiment. A whole or 1/2 banana, 1/2 a peanut butter sandwich, a handful of almonds or walnuts, water or my personal favorite #P90X#ResultsAndRecovery drink! My post workout go to re-hydrator!! Give it a few minutes for your body to process the sugars and then hop back into it, slowly at first!! There are different kinds of #bonk s too, electrolyte, energy & fluid. But those are for a blog post! LOL
