When we do return to travel, if you haven’t been doing this already, make sure you save some room in your suitcase for some cleaning products!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been a tiny bit of a germaphobe when it comes to hotel rooms & airplanes. I always pack my wipes and sanitizer. But we’re going to need to be extra diligent as the world starts opening back up to travel. Even with the extra precautions that hotels and airlines will be making, it’s still going to be up to us to make sure we’re doing our share to keep ourselves and our families as safe as possible.
For peace of mind, you’ll want to make sure you’re wiping down doorknobs, sink handles, light switches, remote controls, drawer pulls, any flat surfaces and flush handles.
Opt for no maid service during the length of your stay and also if this isn’t already in effect, have towels, sheets and extra bathroom supplies dropped at your door. (making sure they aren’t just put on the ground. An extra towel or sheet to keep them from touching the carpet)
As for sheets and pillowcases, you can bring your own, but that seems a little more difficult unless you’re traveling by car. Make sure though that you always take off the bedspread or comforter as they aren’t washed as often as the sheets. Although that may change.
Try to bring your own water bottle or better yet a collapsable water pouch that can fit in suitcases super easy!! This is the one I like to use Platypus Collapsable Water Bladder
Use sanitizer every time you touch a handrail or elevator button. Even the button on the Ice Machine.
When it comes to plane travel, wipe down your tray table, seat belt, armrests, light and air controls and anything else you might touch.
Sanitize your hands after touching the overhead bin if you store your luggage. Make sure to wipe down your luggage if you’ve checked it after you pick it up from baggage claim.
Of course, most places are going to provide you with sanitization options, it’s just best to be prepared and have your own supplies just in case.
Theme parks are going to be harder to stay clean with the masses of people coming through, so you’re going to need to be diligent about sanitizing and washing your hands as often as you can.
Disney, for instance, will be taking extreme measures to make sure their guests are kept as safe as possible. Sanitation stations will be located everywhere in the park. New park entry methods instead of fingerprints are being developed and now mobile check in will be mandatory when arriving at your resort.
Disney was ahead of the curve when they added their newest update to their My Disney Experience App. It’s got some cool features where you can check-in and even unlock your resort hotel door with your phone!! Pretty Sweet!
When the time comes for things to open back up again, we’re all going to have to be hyper vigilant about keeping ourselves safe. It’s going to be very different for a long time, but if we all do our part, I think we may see some return to some kind of normalcy!
And remember, even if we are wearing a mask, you can still smile with your eyes and voice!
Faith, Trust and Pixy Dust my friends!!
